Who are the true bloodline family to the Anoa'i Wrestling Family?

Main Post:

I have been trying to find the ACTUAL Anoa'i bloodline of pro wrestlers. But it seems they just adopt or do "blood oaths" with every pro wrestler that is tied to someone born under the Pacific Islander category. Like "Hey, you have a relative that is a pacifier islander from a hundred years ago. You are now part of us."

Just to artificially grow the "Bloodline" of Pacific Islander pro wrestlers.

I'd love to see a list of pro wrestlers that are actually BLOOD related to the Anoa'i family.

Just curious is all. All respect in the world given to a phenomenal group of talented individuals! 🤙

Top Comment: Anyone who's actually related to Rikishi, etc. There's a detailed family tree on Wikipedia. Edit: sorry, I can't read

"my family and I" or just "my family"

Main Post:

I don't know whether the "and I" is redundant or not, so I'm asking here :D

Top Comment: That really depends on the sentence (and probably also on your personal definition of "my family"). Some examples: "My family and I went to the zoo." - This makes it clear that you and your family went to the zoo. But it still doesn't make it clear who exactly "my family" is (just your immediate family or members of your extended family too?). Without the "and I," I would probably infer that you did not go to the zoo. "My family always goes to Florida for our summer vacation." - You don't really need the "and I" here because the "our" implies that you're included. Without the "our" (i.e., if you just said, "for summer vacation"), I would probably still infer that you were included unless you said otherwise. "My family consists of my parents, my brother, and me." - You would not use "and I" here because that info is conveyed later by "and me" ("me" rather than "I" is used here because it's the object of the preposition "of"). "My family loves me." - Again, you would not use "and I" here because that doesn't make sense. Etc., etc.

"My family and I" vs "Me and my family"

Main Post:

I usually play grammar by ear (I never bothered to formally study the rules), so I don't understand why

"Thank you for inviting my family and I" and "Thank you for inviting me and my family" both sound correct while

"Thank you for inviting I and my family" and "Thank you for inviting my family and me" both sound incorrect.

The I vs me rule doesn't really help; "Thank you for inviting me" sounds correct "Thank you for inviting I" is obviously wrong.

Can anyone help with this?

Top Comment: "Thank you for inviting my family and me" Two things are going on here. 1> Always put yourself behind the other person in a compound. So I, me, etc. always comes behind the other people - you, them, they, my friends, my family, ... the list is endless -- in English, you don't count for as much as the people you're linking to with a conjunction. The second problem is really easier. Just think what you would say if there wasn't something (someone) else connected to it. Would you ever say, "Thank you for inviting I"? If not, then don't use 'I' just because they invited someone else too.
